The key domestic benchmark indices continued to move higher in late morning deal on Tuesday tracking a rally across markets in Asia and a near-record high finish at Wall Street overnight as optimism over the health of the world’s biggest economy amid robust consumer spending data bolstered risk taking appetite.

At 12:20 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28147.18, up by 244.52 points or by 0.88 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8676.45, up by 69 points or by 0.8 per cent.

Shares of TD Power Systems rallied nearly 15 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after Synchronous generators or Alternators manufacturer bagged an order for supply of 45 railway application generators from a major multi-national company for installation in North America.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) rallied nearly 11 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after India’s leading minerals and lignite mining company reported 60 per cent jump in net profit of Rs 115 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 72 crore in the same period last year.

On the sectoral front, all the thirteen indices were trading in green with auto and healthcare stocks leading the gain, adding as much as 1.51 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2652, shares advanced were 1618 while 850 shares declined and 184 were unchanged.
