The Indian equities continued to witness lackluster trade in late morning deal on Tuesday as investors keenly awaited outcome of RBI monetary policy review which will be the first one for new governor Urjit Patel.

At 12:22 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28273.86, up by 30.57 points or by 0.11 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8745.25, up by 7.15 points or by 0.08 per cent.

Traders are hoping that the newly constituted Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) headed by Patel may cut interest rates by 25 bps amid the recent dip in consumer inflation.

On the sectoral front, oil & gas and PSU stocks were leading the gain, adding as much as 1.99 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.

Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty trade flat; metal, realty stocks shine

The Indian stocks edged higher in late morning deal on Wednesday, helped by strong buying across midcap and smallcap stocks, as traders roll over their positions ahead of the September futures & options (F&O) contracts expiry this Thursday. Further, a bearish trend across markets in Asia as traders remained jittery ahead of an OPEC meet which is unlikely to result in any substantial measures to address an ongoing crude oil global supply glut, curbed risk taking appetite.

At 12:15 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28246.45, up by 22.75 points or by 0.08 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8721.55, up by 15.15 points or by 0.17 per cent.

On the sectoral front, metal and realty stocks were leading the gain, adding as much as 0.86 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 2604, shares advanced were 1554 while 858 shares declined and 192 were unchanged.

The Indian stocks continued to witness buying activity in late morning deal on Tuesday, led by gains in IT and healthcare stocks, as traders roll over their positions ahead of the September futures & options (F&O) contracts expiry this Thursday. The market gains were restricted by mixed cues from Asian peers as traders anxiously awaited the outcome of the meeting of top oil producers to discuss measures to stabilize oil prices including a possible production freeze.

At 12:15 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28396.6, up by 102.32 points or by 0.36 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8754.2, up by 31.15 points or by 0.36 per cent.

On the sectoral front, IT and healthcare stocks were leading the gain, adding as much as 1.04 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively.

ALWAYS TRADE WITH STRICT STOPLOSS TO AVOID HUGE LOSS
The Indian stocks were trading flat with a slightly positive bias in late morning deal on Friday as gain in oil & gas and realty stocks were offset by profit booking across financial and FMCG space. Further profit booking in front line blue chip stocks such as Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, GAIL, Hero MotoCorp, Lupin and Tata Steel also dented market sentiments.

At 12:10 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28,780.03, up by 6.90 points or by 0.02 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8870, up by 2.55 points or by 0.03 per cent.

On the sectoral front, oil&gas and realty stocks were leading the gain, rising as much as 1.17 per cent and 1 per cent respectively.

The key domestic benchmark indices slipped in negative terrain in late morning deal on Thursday as selling intensified across financial, PSU, metal and infra shares. The market sentiments were further dented by weakness across markets in Asia and a soft finish at Wall Street overnight as traders worldwide stick to a cautious approach ahead of key central bank meetings in Japan and the US next week while a slide in oil prices raised worries over the health of the world economy.

At 12:25 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28,343.03, down by 29.20 points or by 0.10 per cent and the NSE Nifty was at 8,712.35, down by 14.25 points or by 0.16 per cent.

On the corporate front, shares of Bayer Cropscience jumped over 6 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after German chemical and pharma giant Bayer AG and global biotech major Monsanto signed a definitive merger agreement in an all-cash transaction.

Among others, Ashok Leyland tumbled nearly 5 per cent in intra-day on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company announced merger with Hinduja Foundries.

On the global front, Asian stocks were trading mostly lower, barring Hang Seng, as cautioned ruled sentiment ahead of upcoming central bank meetings next week. Shanghai Composite was closed today, Hang Seng logged modest gains while Japan’s Nikkei 225 sank over 1 per cent as a stronger yen curbed the lure for exporter stocks.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to witness selling pressure in late morning deal on Wednesday tracking a slump across markets in Asia, and the US overnight, amid worries of global central banks turning less accommodative and volatility in oil prices curbed risk taking appetite.

At 12:15 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28330.76, down by 22.78 points or by 0.08 per cent and the NSE Nifty was at 8711.1, down by 4.5 points or by 0.05 per cent.

Traders also reacted to the IIP and inflation data released after-market hours on Monday, and will eye the WPI inflation numbers set for release today. India’s industrial output contracted 2.4 per cent in July 2016, year-on-year, compared to a revised 1.9 per cent rise in June 2016, signaling renewed weakness in the manufacturing sector.

However, consumer inflation eased to a five-month low of 5.05 per cent in August 2016, falling below the government’s upper limit of its official inflation target of 4 per cent, raising hopes of an interest rate cut by the RBI in the coming months.

On the sectoral front, metal and IT stocks were leading the decline, falling as much as 0.42 per cent and 0.21 per cent respectively.

On the global front, Asian stocks were trading mixed tracking an overnight slump from Wall Street as investors braced for the prospect of less global monetary stimulus. The US Fed is weighing up options to hike borrowing costs at a time when central banks in Europe and Japan are questioning the need for a further boost to stimulus. Shanghai Composite fell despite improved economic data as August industrial output growth topped estimates at 6.3 per cent. Hang Seng logged slim gains while Nikkei 225 fell amid uncertainty over global central banks’ future policy moves.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade in green amid consolidation during the noon trading session.

At 12:17 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 29021.83 up by 43.81 points or by 0.15 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8947.2 up by 4.2 points or by 0.05 per cent.

Investors took note of reports that the government has started the groundwork for creation of a secretariat to cater to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, which will be constituted after Presidential assent for the Constitution Amendment Bill enabling implementation of the proposed tax.

Foreign institutional investors were net buyers in Indian equities worth Rs 1,439 crore on Tuesday, as per provisional stock exchange data.

On the global front, Asian peers were trading mixed shrugging off Wall Street's higher close as weaker-than-expected US ISM services data lowered the chances the Federal Reserve will hike rates.

Amidst choppy trade, the key domestic benchmark indices edged lower in late morning deal on Thursday as traders react to weaker-than-expected Q1 GDP growth in Asia’s third biggest economy while a mixed trend in global markets also curbed risk taking appetite. Cement stocks were under pressure after media reported that the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed more than Rs 6,700 crore penalties on 11 cement companies for cartelisation.

At 12:20 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28,439.07, down by 13.10 points or by 0.05 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8,782.55, down by 3.65 points or by 0.04 per cent.

Shares of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) zoomed 20 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the public-private company said that its debt would reduce in half with Cabinet decision on arbitration awards.

On the global front, Asian stocks were trading mixed with Hang Seng and Japan’s Nikkei 225 were up, while Shanghai Composite was reeling under selling pressure as traders awaited the much anticipated US jobs data to be released on Friday, and which will offer further clues over the timing of the next Fed interest rate hike.

The key domestic benchmark indices edged higher, paring early losses in lackluster trade on Monday tracking muted Asian cues as investors across the globe weighed comments from Fed Chair Janet Yellen who on Friday stressed that the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy had strengthened, curbing the lure for risky assets.

At 12:15 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 27797.44, up by 15.19 points or by 0.05 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8576, up by 3.45 points or by 0.04 per cent.

While Yellen stopped short of unveiling the specific timing of a Fed rate hike, Fed Vice Chairman Stanley Fisher indicated the possibility of September tightening. An earlier than expected Fed move may result in volatility in capital flows into emerging markets including Asia’s third biggest economy.

On the sectoral front, auto and capital goods stocks were among top gainers on BSE, adding as much as 1.12 per cent and 0.73 per cent respectively.

The Indian equities edged lower in choppy trade on late morning deal on Tuesday, tracking a mostly bearish trend across markets in Asia as investors across the globe await Fed Chair Janet Yellen’s speech on Friday at Jackson Hole, in which she may offer some cues over the timing of the next US interest rate hike, curbing risk taking appetite.

At 12:10 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 27947.74, down by 37.8 points or by 0.14 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8622.95, down by 6.2 points or by 0.07 per cent.

On the corporate front, Welspun India eroded another 20 per cent and locked in lower circuit on the Bombay Stock Exchange after Bloomberg reported that the company is ending all business with the textile manufacturers, after saying the supplier was sending it phony Egyptian cotton sheets.

Among others, Indraprastha Gas surged nearly 8 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the country's leading natural gas distributer registered a growth of 44.4 per cent in its net profit after taxes (PAT) at Rs 148.01 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016.

On the sectoral front, oil and gas and capital goods stocks were among top losers on BSE, falling as much as 1.33 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.

The Indian equities continued their uptrend in late morning deal on Monday as investors engaged in broad-based buying tracking a positive trend across most markets in Asia as strong US jobs data signaled a pickup in the recovery in the world’s biggest economy, bolstering risk taking appetite. Broader markets also witnessed surge in buying with Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.6 per cent each.

At 12:15 PM, the Bombay Stock Exchange bellwether Sensex was at 28148.51, up by 70.16 points or by 0.25 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 8700.85, up by 17.7 points or by 0.2 per cent.

In the bull-run trade so far, the BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 28226.38 and intraday low of 28134.99, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8723.50 and intraday low of 8697.60.

Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) jumped 5 per cent, hitting 52-week high, on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the RBI allowed foreign investors to hike their stake in the company to up to 40 per cent under portfolio investment scheme.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Lupin Ltd. (Rs. 1704.00,+1.76%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1029.75,+1.50%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 3033.40,+1.05%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 550.25,+0.99%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2885.00,+0.88%), among others.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 357.35,-1.61%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 832.10,-1.22%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 378.00,-0.76%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 160.20,-0.68%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1505.00,-0.51%), were among top losers on BSE.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were trading in green, except capital goods stocks, with oil & gas and realty stocks surging as much as 1.89 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
