The key domestic benchmark indices continued to hover in red during the late noon trading session amid selling pressure in index heavyweights as investors and foreign funds were adopting a cautious approach.

At 14:10 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28350.02 down by 22.21 points or by 0.08 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8720.55 down by 6.05 points or by 0.07 per cent.

In the choppy trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 28432.74 and intraday low of 28311.11 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8749.2 and intraday low of 8704.35.

Gains also remained capped with reports that in September, rainfall fell 15 per cent below average, which could mean the season will end up in deficit. Trades remained cautious with the report that foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 477 crore on September 14, 2016.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were also trading mixed.

The key domestic benchmark indices remained choppy during the late noon trading session with Sensex and Nifty swinging between negative and positive zone.

At 14:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28360 up by 6.46 points or by 0.02 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8722.1 up by 6.5 points or by 0.07 per cent. Investors remained on the sidelines after India's consumer price inflation slowed to 5.05 per cent in August compared with 6.07 per cent in the previous month as food prices eased. Further, the country's industrial output eased to 2.4 per cent in July from a year ago, because of sluggish production of capital goods and consumer non-durables.

The August whole-sale price index increased to 3.74 per cent compared with 3.55 per cent in July , as per the government data released today.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2891 , shares advanced were 1739 while 962 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day in red, while European counters were trading in green.

The key domestic benchmark indices remained choppy during the late noon trading session as they continued to hover in negative and positive territory.

At 14:18 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 29044.24 up by 66.22 points or by 0.23 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8950.3 up by 7.3 points or by 0.08 per cent.

Shares of BHEL jumped 15 percent after it posted better-than-expected June quarter results. Its net profit jumped 54.2 percent to Rs 77.7 crore from Rs 50.4 crore in corresponding quarter last fiscal. Total income during the quarter jumped 29 percent to Rs 5622 crore against Rs 4368 crore in year-ago period.

Among the sectors, consumer goods and PSUs were on the buyer’s radar, rising 1.68 per cent and 1.45 per cent respectively.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were trading in green.

Indian equity benchmarks were trading in a narrow range during the late morning deals on Thursday after weaker-than-expected Q1 GDP growth in Asia’s third biggest economy, and tracking a mixed trend at fellow Asian peers.

At 11:28 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28,472.16, up by 19.99 points or 0.07 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,794.95, up by 8.75 points or 0.10 per cent.

Indian economy grew at the slowest pace in last six quarters at 7.1 per cent in the April-June period of current fiscal on the back of subdued performance of mining, construction and farm sectors.

GDP had recorded 7.5 per cent growth in the April-June quarter of last fiscal and 7.9 per cent in January-March quarter. The previous low was 6.6 per cent GDP growth in the October-December quarter of the 2014-15 fiscal.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed as investors awaited the much anticipated US jobs data to be released on Friday, and which will offer further clues over the timing of the next Fed interest rate hike.

Indian equity benchmarks continued to trade in the positive territory during the late morning deals on Wednesday led by sustained foreign fund inflows and increased buying by retail investors mainly in the auto, banking and healthcare sector stocks amid mixed global cues.

At 11:18 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28436.37 up by 93.36 points or 0.33 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8784.5 up by 40.15 points or 0.46 per cent.

Meanwhile, caution prevailed ahead of Friday’s US jobs data which may offer more clues over whether the US Federal Reserve raises interest rates in the near-term. Also all eyes will be on the Q1 GDP data set for release today.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed as traders weighed speculation of a rise in US interest rates this year as robust consumer confidence data bolstered the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy.

At 14:19 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 27808.57 up by 26.32 points or by 0.09 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8577 up by 4.45 points or by 0.05 per cent.

Among the sectors, IT and realty indices was on the seller’s radar, declining 1.05 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2810 , shares advanced were 1142 while 1475 shares declined and 193 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were also trading weak note after comments from Fed Chair Janet Yellen stressed that the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy had strengthened, curbing the lure for risky assets.

Tracking weak cues from fellow Asian peers, Indian equity benchmarks were trading flat during the late morning deals on Monday due to sustained selling by participants amid increasing expectations of US interest rate hike this year.

At 11:04 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27,787.28, up by 5.03 points or 0.02 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,566.15, down by 6.4 points or 0.07 per cent.

Buying momentum was witnessed mainly in the metal and auto sector stocks.

Meanwhile, shares of DLF, MOIL, Indian Oil Corporation will be in focus today as they reveal their April-June quarter earnings data.

On the global front, most of the Asian markets were trading in the red as investors across the globe weighed comments from US Fed Chair Janet Yellen who stressed that the case for monetary tightening in the world’s biggest economy had strengthened. Shanghai Composite was down 0.16 per cent and Hang Seng slid by 0.43 per cent but Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 2.41 per cent after Bank of Japan Governor reiterated a commitment to ease monetary policy further if necessary, stressing that he would step up economic stimulus without hesitation.

At 14:07 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 27979.96 down by 10.25 points or by 0.04 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8630.5 down by 2.1 points or by 0.02 per cent.

Among the sector, metal and consumer goods indices were among the major losers, declining 0.44 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were also trading on a mixed note.

Moreover, speculators were indulged in covering up of short-positions ahead of the August Futures & Options (F&O) contract expiry on Thursday, supported sentiment at D-Street.

At 11:08 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 28,035.39, up by 45.18 points or 0.16 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8,641.5, up by 8.9 points or 0.1 per cent.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading mixed amid caution ahead of Yellen’s speech on Friday which may offer more clues over when the Fed plans to raise interest rates next. Shanghai Composite was trading 0.08 per cent higher. Hang Seng fell by 0.94 per cent but Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced by 0.54 per cent.

The key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade under pressure during the late noon trading session with IT majors leading the decline.

At 14:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28004.07 down by 72.93 points or by 0.26 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8637.5 down by 29.4 points or by 0.34 per cent.

Further, weakness in Indian rupee too dampened sentiment. The rupee was trading weak at 67.19 against the dollar, down by 13 paise, as the dollar bounced back in the wake of hawkish comments from a Federal Reserve official boosting the likelihood of a U.S. interest rate hike this year.

Among the sectors, IT and TECK were among the major losers, declining 1.23 per cent and 1 per cent respectively. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2926, shares advanced were 1325 while 1396 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.

On the global front, Asian peers ended the day on a mixed note, while European counters were trading firm.

Tracking a rally across markets in Asia followed by overnight gains at Wall Street, Indian equity benchmarks opened higher in the morning session on Friday. Buying momentum was witnessed from retail investors and foreign funds mainly in the healthcare and auto sector stocks.

At 9:04 hours, the 30-share barometer index of Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex was at 27885.75, up by 26.15 points or 0.09 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 8592.15, up by 16.85 points or 0.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, investors eyes will be on the June industrial output data and July consumer inflation numbers, to be released in after-market hours today.

Also, Central Bank of India, Cipla, Dena Bank, Hindalco Industries, Jet Airways, Bank of Maharashtra and Oriental Bank of Commerce will reveal their April-June quarter report cards.

Major show spoilers were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 240.00,-0.97%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 343.00,-0.92%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 249.00,-0.86%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 368.10,-0.82%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 172.60,-0.80%), among others.

On the global front, Asian markets were trading in the green as traders shrugged off signs of a further slowdown in the Chinese economy with growth in industrial output, retail sales and urban fixed-asset investment, all coming in below estimates.

Tracking positive cues from the global peers, the key domestic benchmark indices continued to trade firm in the morning trading session amid buying interest in index heavyweights including Cipla, Reliance, Bajaj Auto and Lupin among others.

At 10:26 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 28181.91 up by 103.56 points or by 0.37 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 8709.35 up by 26.2 points or by 0.3 per cent.

Sentiments of the investors remained upbeat as today the Lok Sabha will give the final parliamentary seal of approval to the enabling of the Constitution amendment bill for GST that the Rajya Sabha cleared last week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Goods and Service Tax Bill will take India closer to achieving financial equality, adding that the Bill is an important legislation for 'ek bharat shreshth bharat (One India Excellent India)' initiative. In the bullish trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 28226.38 and intraday low of 28154.49 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 8723.5 and intraday low of 8700.1.

On the global front, Asian peers were trading firm tracking a record finish at Wall Street on Friday as better-than-expected US jobs data signaled a strengthening US economic recovery.
