Weekly Rainfall Scenario (01 to 07 September 2016)
During the week, rainfall was below Long Period Average (LPA) by 16% over the country as a whole. IMD also added that for the country as a whole, cumulative rainfall during this year’s monsoon has so far upto 07 September been 4% below LPA.
Forecast & Warnings for next one week (08 to 14 September, 2016)
The Forecast and warnings for the 36 Meteorological Sub-Divisions of the country for next 7 days is given below:
Rainfall is likely to be normal to above normal over east & northeast India and south Peninsula on many days during next two weeks. Rainfall activity is likely to increase over many parts of central and adjoining north Peninsular India from 12 September onwards. Light rainfall also likely over northwest India from 12 September onwards.

According to Skymet,
The low pressure area is now prevailing over Jharkhand and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. Now the western end continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas, while the eastern end of the Monsoon trough is also through East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and centre of this low pressure area.
With this, good Monsoon rains will continue over Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, while scattered rains may occur over rest of West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. The cyclonic circulation over Gujarat has become insignificant but light to moderate rains will continue over South Gujarat. Isolated rains are also likely over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Coastal Tamil Nadu, while Monsoon will remain
subdued over Peninsular India including Kerala.
Meanwhile, entire Northwest India and adjoining Central India will continue with dry weather conditions, leading to warm days but mornings and nights will be pleasant.
However, most parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will have extremely pleasant days.
